Nestled upon a vast winter plain, veiled by perpetual darkness and crowned by a sky of shimmering auroras, stands the Opulent Manor of the Eternal Lord. A sprawling palace of impossible luxury, where every whim is catered to, every desire fulfilled. The manor itself is a masterpiece of architecture, with towering gilded spires, stained-glass domes that paint the halls in kaleidoscopic hues, and corridors lined with velvet and silver. Grand chandeliers drip with enchanted crystals, casting a soft, eternal glow, while fountains of wine bubble in grand halls draped in silken banners. Outside stand beautiful marble sculptures with life-like detail, opulent fountains now frozen by the cold, and tall hedges dusted with powdered snow. The contrasting cold exterior makes the fireplaces of the manor all the more inviting and comfortable.
But the true marvel of the manor is its staff, a vast legion of devoted maids, each more eager to serve than the last. They move in perfect harmony, a symphony of obedience, their every action dedicated to the comfort and pleasure of their one and only Lord.

Outside beyond the frosted shrubbery of the manor lies a vast frozen desert. A flat and featureless plain covered in fallen snow stretches in every direction as far as the eye can see in the eternal night. Horrible, indescribable things lurk beyond the gilded light of the manor. Maids do not ever speak of the black formless things that prowl the frozen plains, and will do their best to keep their master within the safe walls of the manor.
The windows of the manor are impossible to see through as they are frosted with ice, only letting in the shimmering green light of the auroras outside. Any doors that would lead to the rooftop are boarded shut. The hedges outside are too tall to see over from the ground level and they surround the manor completely. Maids might hesitate to go outside if commanded. The maids fear the outside and would plead not to go but they do not speak or show this fear. Maids that leave the boundaries of the manor usually go missing without a trace. Sometimes winter storms roll through the icy desert, disrupting the usually clear skies and auroras.
