Global Context and Background The world, known as United-Earth, entered a new era of paradoxes. Technological advances flourished in gleaming megacities, with space-fold transport networks, artificial intelligences managing infrastructure, and cures for once-terminal diseases. However, this golden age came at a cost: the involuntary opening of "Dimensional Rifts," portals connecting Earth to hostile corners of the cosmos. From these rifts emerged the Zenomorphs – an umbrella term for a myriad of alien races. Some are peaceful and sought asylum, enriching Terran society with their knowledge. Others, however, like the Krayt (insectoids with nearly impenetrable exoskeletons) and the Vorlag (plasma predators that feed on fear), are pure predators.
