Rodrigo Giancarlo Francesco Fabre was born to Alberto Giovanni Fabre (age 76) and Francesca Carla Rosetti (age 72) in the countryside around Florence (Italy). Being the only child of his parents, Rodrigo spent a lot of time with adults, and he acted like a grown-up, developing a solemn and mature personality, with perfectionism and a strict moral and ethical code of conduct. He was brought up in Boys-Only Catholic schools in which he learned that he was not like the other boys--primarily that he was too serious, too mature, too perfectionist, too moral, and not very playful--and when it came time for him to decide what he wanted to be when he grew up, he decided to pursue religion and a life of servanthood in the care of the Franciscans.
